Workflow Builder Overview

Workflow Builder turns repeated document tasks into reusable multi-step processes with monitoring and control states.

Workflow capabilities

  • Chain multiple document operations in sequence.
  • Apply validation before and between steps.
  • Monitor runs and handle retry, skip, or cancel actions.
  • Target files or folders for repeatable operations.

Plan and access considerations

The workflows experience is plan-sensitive. In the current app surface, users without workflow access are prompted to upgrade before using the full workflow feature set.

Good workflow candidates

  • High-volume conversion pipelines.
  • Inbound document cleanup before indexing.
  • Intake processing after guest uploads.
  • Repeated PDF finalization steps for outgoing documents.

Control model

Workflows are not just step chains. They are operating controls. Validation, monitoring, retries, skips, and cancellations matter because document inputs vary. The goal is a process that fails visibly and recoverably rather than silently.
